GLOBAL MARKET OUTLOOK

Speaker: Michelle Gibley, Director of International Research at Schwab Center for Financial Research

The program will provide an overview of the global economy and the outlook for world stock markets. Time will be devoted to reviewing the state of the European economy and how it could be shaped by the political environment. The positive and negative elements of China’s outlook will also be covered. The importance of sectors in developing an international outlook will be demonstrated. Ample time for Q&A will be given – providing attendees a chance to ask questions and hear the top-of-mind issues of their colleagues.

Speaker Bio:  Michelle Gibley conducts international stock market research and analysis, and provides commentary on international topics for Schwab clients. Michelle has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry, including pension fund investment consulting and equity analysis. Michelle has appeared in Bloomberg, CNBC.com, Kiplinger Magazine and the Wall Street Journal, as well as other publications. She graduated with honors from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in finance and is a CFA® charterholder.

Cambiar Investors will facilitate a discussion of the international equity landscape and the investment outlook for Europe, Japan and Emerging Markets.  In recent years US equities have outpaced their international counterparts, however a case can be made that foreign stocks are now compelling.  The presentation will feature regional economic insights and their implications for international equities, followed by a question and answer session.
