Ethics 2018: Enhancing Your Ethical Intelligence

Author of Who Can You Trust With Your Money, Bonnie Kirchner, CFP®, MST, presents “CFP Board Ethics 2018: enhancing your ethical intelligence”.  Having experienced firsthand the devastation caused by an unethical former CFP® Practitioner, Ms. Kirchner will discuss the implications of ethics lapses and how they impact all of us.  This session will cover the required 2018 learning objectives and qualifies for two hours of ethics CE credit and an additional hour of insurance ethics.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the significant changes in the Standards and how the changes affect CFP® professionals
  2. Act in accordance with CFP Board's fiduciary duty
  3. Apply the Practice Standards when providing financial planning services
  4. Provide all disclosures required by the Standards
  5. Recognize, avoid, or fully disclose and manage conflicts of interest.

Speaker BIO

Bonnie Kirchner, CFP®, MST has been a financial advisor since 1990 and a CFP ® Practitioner since 1996.  She has a degree in Financial Planning and Counseling from Purdue University and a Master of Taxation degree from Bentley University where she currently serves on the faculty. Not only is Ms. Kirchner an enlightening speaker on a number of financial planning concepts, but she is incredibly inspiring; especially when incorporating her own dramatic journey and the important lessons learned along the way. Prior to publishing her book, Who Can you Trust With Your Money?, published by FT Press, she co-anchored the morning drive radio business magazine, “Early Exchange”, and was the daily financial reporter for Boston’s CBS affiliate in addition to running her own practice. Her personal and professional experiences give her extraordinary insight into the issues surrounding trust and money as well as ethical breaches. Bonnie is the founder and owner of Sea Change Financial Education, a firm dedicated to educating individuals on financial matters and the emotions which drive decision making.


FPA of Colorado Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellation for a refund or a transfer to the next chapter meeting may be requested by no later than Noon on the Tuesday prior to the meeting date. No refunds or transfers will be issued after that date.

Emergency Action Plan

In the event of an emergency at our facility during one of our events, the Board of DIrectors of FPA of Colorado and the Wellshire have created a plan to try and ensure the safety of our attendees. Please read more and be prepared.
