Executive Committee | |

Education Committee | |
The committee is responsible for educational content of all our programs, including Symposium. We research topics and speakers for all the chapter meetings and Symposium. Our chapter administrator handles most of the details. You’ll have opportunities to network with industryleaders, national experts and other members while shaping the education of our chapter. Where else will you have the opportunity to get familiar with the cutting edge issues of our industry and meet many of its leaders? A great committee to join and is in need of a committee chair. Membership Committee | |
We communicate and engage with existing members to increase participation in the chapter, recruit new members and follow up on member issues. The Committee initiates phone calls to highlight specific events and gain feedback, holds new member orientation, organizes social events and promotes FPA Connect. Advocacy Committee | |
This committee connects with state and city government to promote our profession and be aliaison between our organization and the government. You will be the first to know of pending legislation, help us have a voice in consumer protection on financial issues and make amazing connections across our government. Career Development Committee | |
We focus on serving FPA members who want to transition their careers whether it is entering, developing, expanding, or selling their business. We field calls and emails from members and workto connect them up with the right resources andpeople. We provide local support for the national Mentor Match program, design and engage member in activities/events such as Veterans and Rising Stars, NexGen and student chapters. We are agreat committee just gaining traction and you could help develop the path. We primarily support FPA members age 37 and younger as they progress through the early and mid-stages of their careers. We also focus on the development of financial planning professionals through our partnership with the career development committee via the MentorMatch program, as well as bi-monthly, topic-focused events. Our committee is dedicated to leading the next generation of planners into the profession and FPA community.
NextGen Committee | |

Partnership Committee | |
Help us raise money by creating win-win opportunities for partners. Our dues cover less than ¼ of our operating budget. Our goal is to educate members to see the value of and need for partners and make it valuable to be a sponsor. People interested in knowing the corporate footprint in Denver for networking purposes would find this to be a valuablecommittee. Chair: Lori Miller |
Pro-Bono Committee | |
We organize and provide volunteer opportunities for our membership as a means of giving back to the community. As a committee member, you will help decide which opportunities to pursue and promote them to our membership, as well as help orchestrate the larger volunteer events. In addition, you will work closely with the Public Awareness committee and get to know the charitable organizations aroundDenver. As a volunteer, you'll utilize your skills in financial planning to help people who either cannot afford a planner or are unsure of a planner’s value. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunitiesavailable - from teaching financial literacy to children and teens to working with adults one-on-one to address their individual needs. While you cannot promote yourself at these events, many participants are surprised to find that they end up being contacted and occasionally gain clients and exposure in the press. Public Relations Committee | |
We are responsible for community outreach and manage requests from the media including interviews, Money Line 9 and the Speakers and Authors Bureaus. We promote the value of our association, and the importance of working with an FPA professional. Committee members have the opportunity to encourage public awareness through the media and our activities with businesses and organizations. It will hone your public relations skills and offer opportunities for responding to media requests, public speaking and authoring opportunities.
